EMPIRES LOST: THE CONQUEST OF THE AZTECS AND INCAS

Recommendations (Part 1): Preparing the Intro

1) Start with the Incas because you have a lot of info on the Aztecs.

2) Do some background Internet research on the Incas (origin, culture etc).
     For example:
    http://socyberty.com/history/inca-and-aztecs/        or
    http://www.helium.com/items/1541811-similarities-between-the-aztec-and-inca

3) Record similarities and differences using a graphic organiser like a  Venn Diagram.

4) Then start to look for the similarities followed by the differences in the conquests. (Thesis Statement)

5) Go to the library and borrow any text on the Incas.

6) Download documentaries on Internet and record important data.

    See me if challenged.

Antcipating the Introduction by October 15.

  2. EMPIRES LOST: THE CONQUEST OF THE AZTECS AND INCAS
    Introduction

The Aztec and the Inca, two names that immediately invoke mental images of expansive civilisations and militaristic people, born and bred warriors and conquerors. We imagine gold, in massive quantities, and luminous empires.
Being two of the most successful civilisations to ever to rise in the Americas, it brings up the question. Where are they now? Vast civilisations do not merely vanish into thin air. The answer is mournful; these two great empires were conquered, wiped out, by powers stronger than their own.
How? This is what I will endeavour to discover, the intricacies of the tragic events that lead to the genocide of these two diverse and gorgeous cultures.
